Buying A Bra As A gift - A Man's Guide

How do sizes work?

UK bra sizes are described by a number followed by a letter. The number denotes the 'back size'; this refers to the distance around the woman's ribcage, just underneath the bust. The letter refers to the cup size. AAA is the smallest, followed by AA, A, then through the alphabet up to JJ. For example 34C would mean 34 inches distance under the bust, and a cup size of C. The size of a bra is usually printed on its label.

Style and colour

If you are buying a bra or lingerie as a gift you will probably want to buy something special. So make sure you look at her existing bra collection and note the common styles and colours. Try to get a feel for what she likes, but make sure your gift is a little different in some way. Perhaps some sexy lingerie or a pretty bra in an interesting colour would make a nice gift. Unless the woman specifies, do not buy anything in nude colour, and be wary of buying black or white as most woman have plenty of these colours and would be glad of something a little more interesting as a gift.
